Study No. 1 Jacket

Part of the study series, the Study No. 1 jacket is the evolution of the Study 0.1 jacket, developing on all of the ideas within the original with a more complex layering of panels and increased variety and usability of its features. The jacket is derived from experiments done using a new method of draping, arranging individually pre-sewn panels along the body in ‘studies’, which are designed to highlight or reflect specific areas of buildings, both real and imagined, from our research.

The Study No. 1 jacket feature 4 panels arranged around the body to reflect the forms generated in the studies, distorting the shoulder with a complex pattern that contains no natural armhole seam. Panels layered within themselves and affixed with buttons allow the possiblity of multiple styling options, while also providing entries for hidden pockets
